Johannesburg - The ANC on Thursday called on South Africans to remain calm after former president Nelson Mandela was admitted to hospital in Johannesburg on Wednesday afternoon.
"Please, let's not press panic buttons unnecessarily," African National Congress spokesperson Jackson Mthembu told the eNews channel.
"If there are any developments, the Mandela Foundation and the family of Mandela will be able to tell all of us," said Jackson.
There was no news on his health on Thursday morning, after Nelson Mandela Foundation spokesperson Sello Hatang issued a statement on Wednesday afternoon.
It stated: "We can confirm that Mr Mandela is at Milpark Hospital undergoing routine tests. He is in no danger and is in good spirits." News 24.com
