Last night (according to National Geographic) we experienced one of the longest, darkest lunar eclipses in a decade. The next will apparently only occur in 2018. I braved the cold winter night to take a few photos of this rare event. It was a beautiful sight. (I didn’t have the ideal hardware for the occasion, but still like how the photos turned out with my Nikon D7000 and 18-200mm VR lens).
Almost eclipsed: “Slowly, silently, now the moon walks the night in her silver shoon.” Walter de la Mare

Eclipsed: “When I admire the wonder of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in worship of the Creator” Mahatma Gandhi

Darker and darker: “The moon's an arrant thief, and her pale fire she snatches from the sun.” William Shakespeare

Just beautiful: "There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark." Pink Floyd
